OLIVIA + DAVID

aspen & Alston | Cleveland, OH

Some wedding days remind you that no amount of planning can compete with God's perfect timing.

The forecast for Liv and David's Aspen & Alston wedding in Ostrander, Ohio, called for thunderstorms all day on June 6, 2026. Around noon, before we even arrived, a massive storm rolled through with sideways rain and powerful winds. More storms were on the radar throughout the afternoon, and everyone wondered if their outdoor ceremony would have to move inside.

But one by one, every storm passed around the venue.

By the time guests arrived, the skies had settled, the air had thickened with steam coming off the ground, and the ceremony took place exactly where Liv and David had hoped—beneath the tree overlooking Aspen & Alston's beautiful grounds. Even after all the rain nearby, the lawn stayed perfectly dry thanks to such a dry Ohio summer. The next time it rained? On our drive back to the hotel after the reception.

It was one of those days that leaves you simply saying, thank You, Lord.

One thing we loved most about Liv and David was how clear they were about what mattered. When we asked what they wanted to remember most from their wedding day, they answered: the ceremony, the special moments, and the people. More than anything, they wanted Christ to be at the center of their wedding and prayed their day would reflect the Gospel to every guest who attended.

And it did.

The morning was filled with sweet moments—Liv sharing gifts with her bridesmaids, getting into her dress with her mom, and emotional first looks with her dad, brothers, and finally David. Before the ceremony, the two of them exchanged private vows, prayed together beneath the same tree where they would soon become husband and wife.

Their ceremony was elegant, joyful, and deeply intentional.

As the evening unfolded, their focus never shifted from what mattered most. They laughed with family, hugged friends, danced with their parents, and asked us to prioritize people over details—our favorite kind of wedding day.

Before the sun disappeared, we slipped away for twenty minutes of golden hour portraits and somehow the sky rewarded us one last time with the dreamiest light.

After photographing weddings for 10 years, we've learned that the weddings people remember most aren't the ones where everything went perfectly. They're the ones where couples stayed present, loved their people well, and trusted the Lord with everything they couldn't control.

Liv and David's Aspen & Alston wedding was exactly that.

A beautiful reminder of God’s sovereignty and sometimes the sweetest stories are written in the middle of uncertain forecasts.
